Six Sigma Trainings
June 1, 2023
What is Six Sigma?
Six Sigma is a management strategy that uses data and statistical measurement tools to optimize business processes. Initially used by large companies such as Motorola and General Electrics (GE), Six Sigma applies tools and techniques to eliminate defects and reduce process variation.
It does this by equipping individuals with the expertise to understand and apply Six Sigma methodologies, which focus on improving products, services and processes that contribute substantially to the profitability of the organizations they work for. Sigma, as a statistical term, is used to evaluate the gap between given processes and perfection. By identifying the number of defects, and then the solutions that eliminate them, one can say that in theory, one is operating with “Six Sigma quality”. In other words, with 6 Sigma, the process will be 99.9997% or 99.7 good and have no more than 0.00034% or 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO).
The Six Sigma Yellow Belt training will teach you the fundamentals of Six Sigma. During this training, you will be able to understand the key problem solving tools and techniques, as well as the DMAIC process.
After completing this training, you will be able to sit for the exam and apply for the PECB Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt designation. A PECB Six Sigma Yellow Belt certificate shows that you have understood the fundamental methodologies of Six Sigma.
